The campgrounds noted below are by state, then alphabetical for ease, they are not in order of our trip.  Currently we both have Verizon for cell coverage and use a Verizon jet pack for our internet connectivity. We do not have a cable service such as Direct or Dish .  Also, rates will typically be discounted when the stay is longer.  Our perspective comes from a big rig.

Lake Louisa State Park

Clermont, FL

Amenities: water, 30/50 amp, picnic table, fire ring, limited pull through, only  12 with sewer, dump station, bath houses, laundry, activities, lots of  trails and paved roads for biking.  Cabins and cute elegant camping tents with AC , lights and furniture.

Pros/cons: many stores within a 10 minutes drive.  Close to Disney. Park is very large and lots of green space. Would like more full hook ups.  Great staff.

Cell/internet: they offer a wifi for a fee.  we had no problems with our set up.  Note on internet service.  When the park is full, streaming is slow during  peak viewing times.

Pros/cons: Terrible traffic in high season.  VERY close to Disney and many tourist activities.  Sites are tight not a lot of space.  No "green" space.  Lots of returning RVers every season, they are wonderful.

Pros/cons: Road to campsite is a bit steep but fine.  Camp is gravel and attractive.  Here during reopening of COVID.  Pool open and playground open.  Great family run campground.  Everyone very friendly.

Pros/cons: for a big rig, need to know your site location.  lots of trees.  the first row is ideal.  About 20 minutes from Savannah. Huge lots for the pull through.

Amenities:  laundry, small playground, fishing pond, event hall, dog park, cable

Site #:  216 pull through, a bit unlevel.  we had to move a day later to get level.

Cell/internet:  no issues.  

Pros/cons: Never saw staff due to COVID.  We are on gravel and next to marshalling yard.  Industrial area but close to lots of areas.  Easy to get on highway.  Spaces are large where we were in the park.  RVs park back to back with space in front with a fence. 

Kentucky

Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground

Elizabethtown, KY

Amenities: have pull through, full hook up, wifi, pool

Site #: 6.  I think the best site. 

Cell/internet: Good service and streaming.  No issues.

Pros/cons: Trees needed to be trimmed.  The site we were in thankfully had no low hanging branches.  The two sites next to us we witnessed branches hitting the side and tops.  That said, our site did not have trees over us but we benefited from the shade. Found the area to have a lot of flies.   Staff in office very friendly.  Office lobby was closed due to COVID.

Cherry Hill Park

Amenities: Great park amenities. Very large park.  work out room, pool, miniature golf, playground, 1.5 mile trail around park.  Full hook up with cable, picnic table and fire ring. Cabins, yurt, cute glamping pods.  There are some pull through, most are back in.  Golf cart rental, dog walking service, tractor rides, laundry, impeccable bath houses.

Pros/cons: closest RV park to Washington, DC.  Could take bus to metro and travel without moving your car.  Family owned and operated. Sites were small for the price.

Delaware River Family Campground

This was a one-nighter.  They did have a few pull -throughs with plenty of space.  However the road in is brutal with trees.  Several hit the sides and roof.  We would not stay here again.

Rates: $ 101.70 per night.  Expensive for us but in a lucrative location.
Amenities: Great park amenities. Very large park.  work out room, indoor and outdoor pool, miniature golf, playground, theater in the woods.  For a separate fee. water slide, bumper boats, army truck rides, zip line. Full hook up with cable, picnic table and fire ring. Cabins.  Lots closed due to COVID.  Large area in back for events with an event pavilion.

Site #: 7.  This is the one to get!  Overlooks a creek and pasture.

Cell/internet: no issues

Pros/cons:  Family owned/run campground.  Owners are delightful and very helpful.  a wealth of knowledge. there are several pull through.  not all sites have full hookup.  Winery and falls in walking distance.  A quick drive to Mt Airy to see Andy Griffin history.  Blue Ridge not far.  Lots of hiking and kayaking nearby.  Gravel drive coming in.  A bit cumbersome getting out, needed 4 wheel drive to make the hill.

Cell/internet: lots of issues with connectivity, but we were surrounded by hills.

Pros/cons: family owned/run campground.  Great teamwork.  Not a lot to do in the immediate area.  needed to drive at least an hour to reach more Poconos "proper" area.

South Carolina

Sparky's Mobile Home and RV Park

Pros/cons: this quaint park is managed by a wonderful family.  Most campers work in the area.  There are no "amenities" other than the great price and full hook up.  Seeing Miss Caroline daily is a treat!  It is about 20 minutes from Aiken, SC and 30 minutes from Augusta, GA.  By Augusta, is hiking, kayaking, there are several very large lakes with water activities.

Tennessee

Big Meadow Campground

Townsend, TN

Dates: 6/12-7/10/20

Rates: $1207.25 per month,  $40.24 per day.  In this case the month rate was less even though we left before the  month was over.
Amenities: full hook up, cable, kids water splash zone, playground, dog run, right on river for tubing

Cell/internet:  cell coverage ok.  internet was horrible.  Campground has 2 wifi channels which were not always reliable.  Our jetpack did not work well here.  We were not internet dependent so this was ok for us.  You would need Winegard or something similar if working on the road.

Pros/cons: can see some mountains, the campground is flat and limited trees.  sites are decent size but everyone is all in a row.  Very friendly family run campground.  Area has TONS to due.  Town has bike trail along hwy 321.  Town is quiet and not touristy like Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.  For us, who hike a lot this was THE place to stay.  We would definitely stay here again!

Nashville East/Lebanon KOA

Cell/internet:  good cell coverage.  campground has wifi but not enough for streaming.

Pros/cons: sites have a little "yard" area in the pull through sites.  Had a fence and site was decent size but not big.  Could have been a bit longer for us.  Tight to park our big truck and the 5th wheel .  For a KOA not a lot of amenities.  Pool overlooks hwy 40.  Staff very friendly and helpful.  Many campers are here long term.  Lots of people work locally.

Prince William Forest RV Campground

This was a one-nighter.  Only space big enough is a back in.  Problem with trees.  Scratched the side of the RV.  Would not return to this campground.

Shenandoah Acres Family Campground

Amenities: 2 restaurants on property, escorted to site, most have full hook up, lake, scheduled activities, dog park, fishing pond, basketball court, volleyball court, several playgrounds

Cell/internet: no issues

Pros/cons: GREAT family campground.  We saw not one kid with a cell phone.  They put long term campers separate from the weekenders.  Many local have camper there and go back and forth.  Even stay in the park vs going home.   Can't comment on enough to do in this area.  Lovely setting with the valley and the Blue Ridge.  Lots to do in terms of hiking, kayaking, caverns.
